Hospice of Kona is recognized as the best resource to support and advocate for the terminally ill and their caregivers and to educate professionals, volunteers and the general public about hospice care and palliative care.
Some health plans allow patients who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness to receive both hospice care and curative treatment at the same time. This allows you to receive curative treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, or transfusions, while also receiving hospice care to alleviate symptoms so that you can have the best quality of life and make every moment count with your loved ones.
As a leader in hospice care, our palliative care program is available to patients at any stage of a serious life-limiting illness and provides an extra layer of support for you or your family. Separate from hospice care, palliative care is provided to patients who may still be pursuing curative treatment. Our team focuses on improving the quality of life for patients—wherever they call home.
Navian Hawaii's expanded services allows them to provide care earlier in a patient’s journey. Their Integrated Care delivers specialized care to those with serious illnesses, before Hospice Care is needed.
Our Bristol Hospice programs provide hospice services to meet the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of our patients and their families/caregivers. An interdisciplinary group of professionals and volunteers develops an individualized plan of care which includes, as appropriate, the following services: nursing, physicians, home health aides, counseling, spiritual support, therapy, dietary, volunteers, durable medical equipment, supplies, and bereavement services.
Unlike other forms of care that focus only on the patient’s physical needs, North Hawaii Hospice also provides emotional and spiritual support for the patient and loved ones, as well as bereavement support for all of those affected for an entire year after the death.
